'A La Castina' School of Wholistic Horsemanship & La Querencia Stud
Welcome.
A La Castina School of Wholistic Horsemanship was created by two people from different cultures who are passionate and devoted to respecting the entire art of horsemanship.
A La Castina is the unity of Davyd Castro, a gaucho from Argentina who studied horsemanship at The School of Equestrian Art of the Republica Argentina and Christina Selby born in the Australian outback as a drover's daughter, following a long line of horse people dating from an ancestral history of Spanish horsemanship.
The School of Wholistic Horsemanship literally translates 'escuela integral de arte equestre' - the rational and integrated training systems of the two major schools of equitation.
We are proud to show how a form of training is carried out in practice and principles, as it has been done for centuries, brought to the Latin Americas by the Spanish settlers, the methods of schooling and riding that they had learned during 800 years of Moorish Arab occupation.
A La Castina's primary objectives are to preserve the art of true classical equitation in its traditional form through our teaching, training, horses and equipment.
Davyd and Christina have a lifetime of knowledge and skills with horses, and with a strong background in classical training and general horsemanship are able to provide an unequalled service for all our clients.
We are located at Freemans Reach in the Hawkesbury Valley approximately 1.5 hours from Sydney CBD, NSW.
