Chilean Festivities Sept 2010
Held at Fairfield Showground, the A La Castina spanish horses and dancing partners were once again a highlight attraction for the large crowd of enthusiastic onlookers.

Curzon Hall Grand Opening Oct 2009
The historic Curzon Hall at Marsfield opened its new grand ballroom Lady Mary's Pavillion in the evening of Wednesday 21st October.
Our beautiful spanish gelding 'Hero' escorted well known comedian Vince Sorrenti astride through the gates to greet the VIP's and guests for the opening ceremony held in the garden.

High School Formal Oct 2009
'Denni' had the pleasure of escorting a lovely young lady, Nadine to her Year 12 Formal gathering in McQuade Park, Windsor. Everybody agreed that she made the most memorable entrance aboard the beautiful black stallion in the glow of the setting sun.
Chilean & Latin Show Sept 2009
It was a great honour to be a part of the Chilean Latin Show with our horses Lusito & Hero. It was the first time ever in the show's twenty year history of celebrations that horses were a part of the festivities. It was very emotional for the crowd to see the horses for the first time as they are a part of their culture. The very large crowd witnessed the presentation of the Australian and Chilean flags in the opening ceremony followed by individual performances by Davyd & Hero with the garrocha, and Christina & Lusito dancing the traditional Chilean cueca with Manuel.
Reining Show Demos
April 2009
A La Castina SWH were invited by the NSW Reining Association to be a part of the Saturday evening entertainment at their Dash For Cash Show, where we provided two separate performances with our Spanish and Friesian horses.
First Performance
Davyd riding the pure spanish gelding Hero demonstrated the use of the garrocha, a long pole used traditionally for stock work in the Iberian Peninsula and the Americas, and Christina riding the PRE stallion Lusito performed a mock bullfight with our comedy 'bull' Leigh Burns who delighted the crowd with her 'dying' performance.
Second Performance
The truly magnificent black Friesian stallion Dennis v/d Smalbemde with Christina aboard made his debut entrance onto the entertainment stage with an amazing solo performance. He wowed the crowd with his size, presence and calmness proving that such a large animal can work with a lightness and grace which is not often seen, and in one or two hands.
Thankyou to the NSW Reining Association and committee for all your help and for this opportunity to show our horses. It was a real pleasure.
Orange Blossom Festival
September 2008
The stallions Denni and Lusito took part in the Kenthurst Orange Blossom Festival parade on a beautiful sunny September 21. Both horses were totally unfazed by the occasion, especially Lusito who is an old hand at this sort of thing, showing the new boy Denni that there is nothing to worry about except to enjoy the admiring crowd.
Horse Talk TV
August 2008
Katie Hickson and her team from the Horse Talk TV Show spent a full day interviewing and shooting for the new horse show to be aired on Channel 31. It was an enjoyable and exhausting day, preparing four of our horses, Denni, Lusito, Gigolo & Dolly.
Davyd spoke about the training, use of tack and equipment and demonstrated with our horses some of the techniques involved in the preparation and training of horses.
